Licensing
In an effort to reduce the overpopulation of dogs and cats in Forsyth County, the County Commissioners approved a new
pet licensing procedure.
If you reside in Forsyth County and own a dog or cat you must:
- Obtain a registration for the animal within 60 days after it is acquired.
- Pay a yearly registration fee for each dog and/or cat you own.
- Pay the fee based on whether or not the animal has been sterilized ($5.00 if animal has been spayed/neutered -
$25.00 if they have not)
- Provide your dog a collar or harness to which the registration tag can be attached. This is NOT a requirement
for cat owners.
