Art Show at Walkertown: Acrylic Paintings by Margaret Huntley Harrison

Acrylic Paintings by Margaret Huntley Harrison are on display at Walkertown Branch library through the end of March 2017.

New Art Show includes colorful impressionistic landscapes and flowers. According to Harrison, “My painting is how I express love. Period.” Some of her favorite subject matters include “flowers, people, beach scenes, and landscapes.” While she primarily works in acrylic, she also uses watercolors and soft pastels on sandpaper.

Harrison studied art history as a college student and has a number of artists that inspire her. She “fell in love with Matisse, Prendergast, and Dufy for their light and playful brush strokes as well as Mary Cassatt and Toulouse Lautrec for their stunning and solid compositions.” More modern influences include Kate Mullin, Dreama Tolle Perry, Derek Gores, Jennifer Edwards, and Karin Jurik.

Ms. Harrison is a family therapist in Clemmons and Winston-Salem. As an artist, she is represented by Hampton House Framing and Art in Winston Salem. All art works are for sale. Call 336-703-2990 for more information, or visit this page.
