Forsyth County Public Library
We are now midway through our summer reading program, so now’s a good time to make sure you are turning in your reading logs. If you haven’t started a reading log yet, it’s not too late…. we make it easy to keep track of your reading this summer. You can register and keep track online, or you can pick up and return paper logs at your local library.
Each branch is giving away gift cards to Barnes & Noble at the end of the summer for every age group, juvenile, teen, and adult. So, no matter what your age, you have a chance to win prizes just for reading this summer! You can also attend a great program at the Library this summer and have tons of fun. So check out some of the programs going on and remember to have a safe Fourth of July weekend and an awesome fun-filled summer @ the Library!
Our featured summer performer, Peppercorn Theatre, will be visiting four locations this week with an original production about American physician and NASA astronaut, Dr. Mae Jemison. You can see this unique performance on Tuesday, July 8 @ 10:30am at Clemmons or 3pm at Lewisville, Wednesday, July 9 @ 2pm at Central, or Thursday, July 10 @ 2pm at Rural Hall.
On Tuesday, July 8 @ 2pm, the Carver School Road Branch will be hosting “International Foods: The Science of Ice Cream” a fun way to learn the history of everybody’s favorite frozen summer treat. For those teens and tweens with a strong stomach, Teen Central will be hosting a “Forensics Feast” Wednesday, July 9 @ 3pm. Make sure you bring your appetite! For those looking for a place to jam, Reynolda Manor Branch Library hosts “Triad Americana Jam Sessions” every Monday night @ 6:30pm, so join them Monday, July 7th or any Monday evening.
