Make-A-Wish Foundation’s Walk for Wishes

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & Western North Carolina is hosting the 3rd annual Walk for Wishes at Tanglewood Park on Saturday, November 10, 2012.

The Park is closed to the general public—open only for the Walk for Wishes! Participate in this walk at Tanglewood to be among the first to view the 2012-2013 Festival of Lights show. Registration begins at 5:00 pm at the Concert Shell with food, games, entertainment, and more. The opening ceremony begins at 6:30 pm, with the walk following at 7:00 pm.

Please join us in the steps it takes to make dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. Registration is $20 and children can be registered for $10.

General Park Information

  • Pets must be under control of their owner and kept on a leash no longer than six feet at all times. All pets must have current inoculations for rabies. Pets must be kept and never left unattended. Pet owners are responsible for their pets using the designated waste area and cleaning up after their pets at the designated area.
  • Golf, Horse Stables, Hiking Trails and Accommodations are available year-around.
  • Gardens are open year-around. Blooming seasons vary.
  • Tennis activities are available from April to November.
  • Water activities can be enjoyed from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  • Entrance Fee:
    • $8.00 - Passenger Vans and Buses
    • $2.00 - All other vehicles
    Annual passes can be purchased at the Welcome Center for $50.00 for passenger vans and buses and $25.00 for all other vehicles. Entrance fees and annual passes do not include admission to special events.
