Health Clinics

TB Skin Testing Clinic

Tuberculosis skin testing is provided only for high-risk individuals (see below). For more detailed information, please call (336) 703-3100.

High Risk individuals who should be skin tested are:

  • TB cases and suspects(no cost)
  • Contacts to active TB cases(no cost)
  • HIV positive persons or persons with AIDS(no cost)
  • Adult day care staff providing care for HIV positive persons(fee)
  • Injection drug or crack cocaine users(fee)
  • Homeless persons(fee)
  • Division of Prison staff w/ direct inmate contact(fee)
  • Staff in homeless shelters and jails(fee)
  • Refugees(fee)
  • Migrant and seasonal farm workers(fee)
  • Foreign born persons arriving within the past 5 years from high prevalence countries(fee)
  • Long term care employees/residents(fee)
Cost
bullet The charge for a TB skin test (PPD) is $10 (check or cash, no credit or debit cards), payable at the time of the test.
bullet Persons with Medicaid do not have to pay for skin testing.

Appointments
Walk-in basis (first come, first serve). Persons who receive TB skin tests, must return 2 - 3 days after the test to have it read and get the results.

Clinic Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:30 a.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
NO TB SKIN TESTING ON THURSDAYS
NO TB READINGS ON TUESDAYS
