Food, Lodging & Institutions
The goal of the Food, Lodging and Institution section of Environmental Health is to protect the public health
through a number of different programs. These include the permitting, inspections and complaint investigation of
Food, Lodging and Institution facilities throughout the County, in addition to numerous Child Environmental Health
Services and new facility Plan Review.
- Food - includes Restaurants, Food Stands, Meat Markets, Produce Markets, Seafood Markets, Mobile Food Units, Pushcarts,
Limited Food Stands and Temporary Food Events (print a temporary food
event packet).
- Lodging - responsible for the sanitation of Hotels, Motels, Bed and Breakfast Homes and Bed and Breakfast Inns.
- Institution - includes Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Adult Care Homes, Local Confinements, Residential Cares,
Adult Daycares and Tattoo Parlors.
- Child Environmental Health Services - includes Daycares, School Buildings & Cafeterias and
Lead Safety.
- Plan Review - responsible for the evaluation and construction of new facilities throughout Forsyth County.
- N.C. Rules - Access copies of the current food, lodging, institutional, child care and tattoo artist sanitation rules.
- File a Complaint - Do you have a sanitation complaint or request concerning an establishment regulated by the Health Department? If so file your complaint here.
- Inspections for Prior Week - View inspection reports of
restaurants, food stands, meat markets and school lunchroom conducted last week.
- Facility Search - Search a listing of all facilities under inspection by the health department. Only foodservice sanitation inspection reports are available at this time. Other inspection reports will be available in the future.
