April Detention Staff Member of the Month

Detention Officer S. Starling has been employed with the Forsyth Co. Sheriff’s Office since February 18, 2008. He is a very dependable staff member and performs his job duties well. Detention Officer Starling takes pride in his career as a dedicated Detention Officer.

On April 30th, 2014, Detention Officer Starling was assigned to inmate housing 4C, an area of high demand and inmate observation due to a special need. He observed an inmate with a sheet tied around his neck attempting to commit suicide. Officer Starling immediately grabbed the inmate, placed him on the floor, and removed the sheet which saved his life.
