On May 25, 2012 , the WSPD requested FCSO assistance on a subject a threatening suicide in their jurisdiction. WSPD was able to trace the cellular phone to Kernersville lake Park. Lt Barham, Investigator Gaylor and Investigator March responded and located a distraught female in a boat brandishing a 22 caliber pistol. She was extremely intoxicated and was threatening to kill herself.

Investigators Gaylor, March and Lieutenant Barham established verbal contact with the female. She responded that she did not want to speak to a male officer and wanted to speak to a female officer. Lieutenant Barham contacted Deputy Vaughan for her to respond to the scene and upon her arrival she was able to make contact with the female.

Deputy Vaughan was able to talk the female into bringing the boat to shore and continued her in conversation. As she was talking to her Investigator Gaylor, Investigator March and Lieutenant Barham were able to maneuver themselves to the edge of the female’s boat. While Deputy Vaughan kept her attention Investigator March was able to step into her boat and subdue her. No injuries to the female subject or the employees involved. Congratulations on a job well done!
