July Detention Staff Member of the Month

On July 21, 2023, Corporal S. Green observed a resident at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center experiencing a medical issue which turned out to be a cardiac arrest. The resident stopped breathing and Corporal Green was unable to find a pulse. Corporal Green began life-saving measures including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator while emergency medical personnel were en route. Corporal Green completed a full round of chest compressions which were unsuccessful. Several doses of Narcan were administered to the resident before she started to breathe again. The resident was transported to the hospital and made a full recovery. Corporal Green’s heroic behavior, medical assessment of the situation, and quick actions saved this resident’s life. Corporal Green is a leader who has the initiative and the drive to make a positive difference at the detention center. Corporal Green is an asset to our agency and continues to prove her worthiness after recently being promoted to a supervisory position.
