QI am having trouble with my son or daughter; can I bring them out to the Youth Center for a tour?
AYes. Youth Services has developed a Gang & Delinquency Prevention Initiative designed to provide sessions for youths who are in danger of being detained.Top
QHow long are youth detained?
AA juvenile placed in secure custody must be released within five calendar days unless within that time there has been either a hearing on the merits or a hearing to determine the need for continued detention.  The average length of stay for youth in the Forsyth County Youth Center is 14 days.Top
QCan a youth receive telephone calls?
AYouth may make telephone calls to parents or guardians on Wednesday and Saturday or parents and guardians may call the youth on these selected days.Top
QIf I am having trouble with my son or daughter, who do I call?  How do I get help?
AIf you are having problems that may lead to them getting in trouble by breaking the law, the 21st District Juvenile Court Counselors Office is a local resource for help.  Call (336) 761-2265.Top
QCan a youth write letters and receive mail?
AYes.  Youth are allowed to write letters and receive mail.  Writing materials and postage is provided at no cost to the parent or youth.  All incoming mail is checked for contraband.Top
