Library Celebrates National Teen Read Week
Contrary to popular thought, teenagers are some of the most avid readers around. While video games, the Internet and cable television still have their places with teens, books remain a constant in their lives. In commemoration of teens and reading, the Library joins with the American Library Association in a national celebration of Teen Read Week October 18 -24. There will also be a series of activities at Central Library and our Branches throughout the week to mark the occasion highlighted by a Branch-wide Guitar Hero competition whereby the winning Library receives a new Playstation 3 game console.
Check out the complete program schedule for Teen Read Week. For more information about teen programming throughout the year contact your local Branch Library or call Teen Central at 703-3080.
