Forsyth County FY 2014-2015 Budget Approved
On May 29, 2014, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners approved the FY 2014-2015 Budget which begins July 1, 2014.
A Public Hearing on the County Manager's proposed budget was held on June 27, 2014 and Commissioners held a budget workshop on June 28, 2014.
The adopted budget includes a tax rate of 71.68 cents per $100 valuation which is the same rate used for FY 2013-2014. which is the current rate. Of the proposed 71.68 cent tax rate, 4.51 cents is dedicated to two Education Debt Leveling Plans. Information about the Education Debt Leveling Plans and how Forsyth County uses North Carolina Education Lottery Funds can be found on the Budget & Management Department’s “Learn About…” page.
Sales Taxes are projected at a 3% increase based on overall expected economic activity for the County and an expanded base. The growth projections are within the range anticipated by State consensus projections.
