WHODUNITS with DONUTS Book Club at Walkertown

Join the Whodunits - Crime Solvers Book Club as we eat donuts and discuss I Love You More by Jennifer Murphy. Murphy’s debut is a captivating read that centers around the murder of Oliver Lane, who has been shot dead at his beach house on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The victim had three wives. His first and legal wife, Diana, is a true Southern Belle and the mother of his observant pre-teen daughter, Picasso. Next, is Jewels who has twin boys and a cynical attitude. Last, is Roberta “Bert”, who is a plain but sensible woman with a brand-new baby daughter. Det. Kyle Kennedy, a recent transfer from the Detroit PD, is assigned to investigate. He naturally views all the wives as potential suspects. Picasso, the main narrator, knows the truth about the relationships among the wives, knows they are lying, and yet becomes one of the liars. While Kyle battles his inappropriate attraction to Diana, readers slowly piece together the truth through the eyes of Picasso, the detective, and the wives.
