The Clemmons Branch Cookbook Club with Sheri Castle

Our themes for On the Same Page this fall are farming and good nutrition, so the Cookbook Club featured homegrown recipes out of The New Southern Garden Cookbook and The Southern Living Community Cookbook by NC author Sheri Castle...and Miss Castle herself joined us for the occasion. It was a delicious and quite eclectic feast. We dined on fig and blue cheese bruschetta, shrimp chowder, poppy seed chicken casserole, roasted winter squash pasta, and much more. After gabbing for a while with full bellies, we raffled off a box of fresh produce from the generous folks at The Produce Box. Then our esteemed guest autographed some copies of her cookbooks. Thanks so much for visiting us, Sheri!

Next month, the Cookbook Club will attempt to make French cuisine. Everyone is welcome to join us on Wednesday, October 19 at 12:30 pm in the Clemmons Branch Library auditorium for the meal, but fair warning: you MUST bring a dish from one of the pre-selected cookbooks (sitting on our circulation desk) in order to attend. Swing by the library in the weeks leading up to the meeting and pick out a recipe and we'll photocopy it for you.
