May Reading Challenge: Read For Travel to New Destinations

May is a great month for planning a vacation - a get-away from school, work, or just the same old everyday routine. While not everyone can take a summer vacation or even a staycation, reading a book can always help you travel to someplace new and exciting. This month’s reading challenge is to read a book set in a place you have never visited. It can be somewhere you’d like to visit (Hawaii for example where “The Descendants” by Hemmings is set) or a place you are unlikely to ever get a chance to go (like in “The Martian” by Weir which takes place on Mars). This particular challenge is fairly broad and allows you to use your imagination. Feel free to ask your librarian for more title suggestions.

I hope you accept the FCPL May Reading Challenge and encourage your family and friends to try it too. Please let me know how it goes and if you get a chance, send me an email (fcpl.eg.requests@gmail.com) with the book you read.

Happy Reading!
