Free WSSU Flute Choir Performance February 21 at Walkertown

The Winston-Salem State University Flute Choir will perform a selection of flute ensemble pieces, highlighting several compositions and arrangements by black musicians.

The flute choir is directed by WSSU adjunct professor Dr. Tika Douthit, who created the ensemble and has been teaching at Winston-Salem State for 15 years. The group’s repertoire spans the classical period to the present. Under Dr. Douthit’s direction, the flute choir has performed in numerous community venues in and around Winston-Salem and has performed as a part of the HBCU National Band Directors' Consortium and the Intercollegiate Music Association.
