All library branches will be closed on Friday, Dec. 6, for Staff Development Day. Normal hours will resume Saturday, Dec. 7.
Jazz Classique will perform their unique blend of classical and jazz in a Christmas concert at Walkertown Branch Library on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. Musical selections will include classical works by composers such as Bach, Heinichen and Poulenc as well as traditional Christmas standards.
Monday, Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. The Coffee Pot festooned with a bow, the Nativity display at Sears, the tree decorated at the Children's Home, Christmas parades on West Fourth Street, and Lovefeasts with candles, buns, and coffee. Molly Grogan Rawls, author and photo archivist at the Forsyth County Public Library, shares historical photographs that recall earlier times in Winston-Salem's history.
This month we will be reading holiday stories on Thursday, December 19, at 10 a.m. Then come aboard the bookmobile for a holiday themed craft. The downloadables class at Walkertown Branch Library will be cancelled on Dec. 27. All other classes will remain as scheduled.
Come celebrate the season while spreading holiday spirit with the Adult Outreach Program during an afternoon of giving and sharing. This occasion is set to benefit the homeless population of Winston-Salem with a program consisting of musical performances, an arrangement of refreshments, as well as hygiene donations.
