Changes to Library Catalog System Will Affect Patrons

We’re making some changes that will allow you to order materials from the N.C. Cardinal system more efficiently. During that time, the library catalog system will be unavailable. The transition will take place between Friday, Oct. 12 through Sunday, Oct. 14. During this time, patrons must have their library cards to check out, and they must be in good standing before Oct. 12. Additionally, the online library catalog will be unavailable between these days.

NEA Big Read: Short Story Contest

For all those budding or experienced writers out there, the library will be sponsoring a Short Story Contest during our Big Read campaign. Writers of all ages will have until Wednesday, Oct. 10 to submit their most creative and compelling stories to their local library. Winning entries will receive a $100 gift card.

Japanese Conversation Club for Teens

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, 4:30-5:30 p.m., Teen Central will host a Japanese Conversation Club. This event is for teens who wish to be introduced to Japanese through interactions with a bilingual group leader. The club will focus on basic, conversational vocabulary and real-world conversational topics. No previous knowledge of the language necessary.
