Looking for a book club that won't stress you out? Prefer reading or listening to non-fiction books? The Paddison Memorial Branch Library of Kernersville has a group just for people like you. We will meet five times a year (March, May, July, September, and November) to discuss a book with the option to keep the conversation going online.
Every year I try to do a reading challenge by tackling a list of books I normally wouldn’t read. I always end up reading something I never would have picked up. March is National Reading Month. It’s also the month that we celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Thus the first reading challenge - to read a children’s book you have never read before. It could be a classic you never got around to - “The Wind in the Willows” or “Hatchet.” You could try something new like “The First Rule of Punk."
Did you know that paper is the most widely used material in arts and crafts? Dive into our craft supplies to create different themed pieces of art each month, all using paper craft. Some examples include greeting cards, collages, scrapbooks, paper flowers and wood-and-paper projects. Bring your creativity and we'll provide everything else.
