Sensory Storytime awaits families at 11 am on Saturday, Sept. 17th, at Lewisville Branch. Interact with gentle stories, songs and rhymes. All ages are welcome, especially children with sensory issues or autism spectrum disorder. Toddlers and preschoolers with typical development enjoy Sensory Storytimes, too.
Book discussions are the heart of On the Same Page. They offer a chance to get together with other readers, share impressions, and be reminded why reading is one of life’s great joys. All discussions are free and open to the community. You are welcome to join us at any location. For information about locations or details about book discussions, please contact the library at (336) 703-2941.
With so many books published each year, how does the Library choose which titles to purchase and add to the collection? Well, that’s the job of our Collection Development Manager who coordinates material purchasing for the library. A fancy way of saying she reads through book review publications, publisher emails, catalogs, etc. and chooses what she thinks you, our customers, will want to read in the next week, month, and year. However, there more to it than simply reading reviews.
