Fizz Boom Read! It’s going to be an exciting summer filled with exploration and entertainment at the library. We start with our kick off program at the Arts District Gallery Hop on Friday, June 6th featuring the super-popular kids’ band, Big Bang Boom, so be ready to get up and move!

This summer we are proud to present as our system-wide performer, Peppercorn Theatre. Peppercorn Theatre has created an original play especially for FCPL based on the life of astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison which they will present at each of our 10 locations. Other opportunities to delve into the scientific realm will come with the NC Zoo (live animals!) and WFU Museum of Anthropology (forensics!) plus scientists, Legos, the Balloon Lady, Monkeyhooper hula hoops, and Fish the Magish.

There will be music programs as well, such as the bilingual songs and stories of Criss Cross Mangosauce, the bluegrass style of the Dan River Girls, and everyone’s favorite, Music & Movement. Look for varied programs and storytimes presented by your favorite FCPL library staff as well!
