Digitize Your Archives
Tuesday, February 20, 3-5 pm
The Walkertown Branch Library offers free, do-it-yourself digitization of photos, VHS tapes and audio tapes to share and enjoy for years to come. Free help with the equipment is available. Call 336-703-2990 to sign up for one-on-one assistance with the equipment.

African American Genealogy
Tuesday, February 20, 6 pm
Learn about African American Genealogy from an expert researcher Karen Feeney. Find your roots with tips for locating genealogical information about African American ancestors in this free program. This program will cover basic genealogy tips, introduce you to African American online research sites and databases, and explain different types of documents used in African American genealogy. Free Genealogy Starter Kits and handouts with resources listed will be available.

Meditation Class
Wednesday, February 21, 5:30 - 6:30 pm
In these class, Ananda Sarvasri will introduce you to yoga-meditation. It can breathe new life into your mind and body. Come experience the rejuvenation, relaxation, and wholeness that comes with the practice of meditation. No postures, no special clothing. NC Historian Fam Brownlee will present "Man to Man: Bighouse Gaines", a talk about the now in production documentary film "Man to Man: Bighouse Gaines". Bighouse is world famous for winning 828 games as a college basketball coach, but it was his role as a maker of men that was really important.

Mr. Ziglar is Assistant Chief for Forsyth County Emergency Services and a Medical Examiner for Forsyth County. Afterthoughts Book Club reads "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand" byHelen Simonson

In March, the Afterthoughts Book Club at Walkertown Branch Library will be discussing Helen Simonson's debut novel, "Major Pettigrew's Last Stand". Written with sparkling wit and comedy, the novel was beloved by critics when it was released in 2010. A comforting cup of tea leads to a blossoming romance between Major Ernest Pettigrew and Mrs. Jasmina Ali, but their English village eyes them with suspicion. All are welcome to join us for a friendly and interesting discussion! Tea and light refreshments will be served.
