Programs for Children and Teens at Walkertown Branch Library May 2017

Storytime Ages 0-5 --- Every Tuesday, 10:30 am
Music & Movement Ages 0-5 --- Every Thursday, 10:30 am

Wednesdays, May 10th & 31st @ 3 pm---Pick a Game! For Teens
Come and enjoy an hour or two of group gaming with all of your friends at the library! Enjoy Bingo, Pictionary, Dominoes, Uno, and many more fun games. And...there’s prizes!!!!

Saturday, May 13th @ 4 pm---Crafty Saturday
Come to the library for an hour of crafts! Children age 8-11 are invited to tap into their creative side with a guided craft session. All materials and directions are provided, and you can take your creation home with you! Please call or come by the circulation desk to register.

Monday, May 15th @ 6 pm---Read to a Dog!
Children age 3-11 are invited to practice their reading skills by reading to a sweet therapy dog. Bring along a book of your choice, or ask a librarian for one when you arrive. Please register for a 10 minute time slot at the library circulation desk.

Wednesday, May 17th @ 4 pm---Power to the Youths! Teen Book Club
Not your Mom's book club! Join the club that was created especially for young adult readers age 13-17. This month’s selection: A Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass. Books are available for checkout 3 weeks before the next meeting (4/26/17).

Monday, May 22nd @ 6 pm---Play in the Dirt!
Children age 5-7 are encouraged to get involved in planting and tending to this year’s Children’s Learning Garden at the library! We will meet rain or shine for some fun gardening activities. Please call or come by the circulation desk to register.

Wednesday, May 24th @ 3 pm---Get Hooked! Teen Knit and Crochet Club
The yarn arts aren't just for Grandma! Come learn the basics of knitting and crochet or bring along a project that you are already working on if you want. We will have a limited supply of tools for beginners to learn. Both beginner and advanced stitchers welcome!

Wednesday, May 24th @ 6 pm---Family Movie Night
Join us for our Family Movie Night on Wednesday, May 24th at 6pm to view Rogue One: a Star Wars story, produced by LucasFilms and Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios. The Rebel Alliance makes a risky move to steal the plans for the Death Star, setting up the epic saga to follow.. (PG-13)
