November Programs for Youths at Walkertown

Monday, November 6th @ 3 pm-----Ozobots Invasion (TEENS)
Teens will learn the basic coding principles while creating paths for the Ozobots to follow. For more information on the Ozobots, check out their Youtube video: Get to Know Ozobot Evo, the Smart and Social Robot.

Monday, November 6th @ 6 pm-----Read to a Dog! (KIDS)
Children age 3-11 are invited to practice their reading skills by reading to a sweet therapy dog. Bring along a book of your choice, or ask a librarian for one when you arrive. Please register for a 10 minute time slot at the library circulation desk.

Wednesday, November 8th @ 2:30 pm-----After-School Teen Orientation (TEENS)
Is your teen interested in volunteering at Walkertown Branch Library? Come find out more about how to volunteer at this orientation program. We'll talk about things teen volunteers can do and how much we appreciate their help!

Monday, November 13th @ 3 pm-----Thanksgiving 3-D Printing (TEENS)
Teens will learn how to use a 3-D printer in this Thanksgiving-themed program. To see real-world uses of 3-D Printers and how this technology helps astronauts aboard the International Space Station, check out the Youtube Video Space Station Live: Update on 3-D Printing in Space.

Wednesday, November 29th @ 2:30 pm-----Program for Teens (TEENS)
Join us at Walkertown Branch Library for our Program for Teens every second and fourth Wednesday. Based on the teen interest on that day, we might have board games, crafts, or something entirely new to offer!

Tuesdays @ 10:30 am-----Storytime (KIDS)
A fun-filled 30-minute program for kids 0-5 with stories, songs, and dancing. A new theme each week!
Our storytime themes for this month are:
Nov 7 - Time
Nov 14 - Veterans
Nov 21 - Thanksgiving
Nov 28 - Winter

Thursdays @10:30 am-----Music & Movement (KIDS)
Join a roomful of toddlers and preschoolers for lively fun, stretching, dancing, rocking, and rolling. Rhymes, chants, and song lyrics develop emerging literacy while everything we do develops rhythm skills. Social skills and relaxed exercise complete the fun.

Take a book, make it into a tree! At Walkertown Branch Library, we’re going to show you how to make a tree out of an old (in nice shape) book.

Friday, December 15th @ 3 pm-----LEGO Mindstorms (TEENS)
Teens will learn the basics of coding and robotics, creating functions for LEGO Mindstorms. Registration required, please call Walkertown Branch Library at 336-703-2990.

Wednesday, December 27th @ 2:30 pm-----Teen Volunteer Thank-You Party (TEENS)
As a thanks to all our after-school volunteers, we’ll be hosting a teen volunteer thank you party! We’ve had some great volunteers since the school year started and wanted to make sure they were properly thanked for all their hard work. Talk to Miss April at Walkertown Branch Library if you’re interested in being a teen volunteer!
