Monday, June 18th @ 3 pm-----Book Busters Book Club (KIDS)
We’re shaking things up at Walkertown Branch Library with a new summer book club for kids ages 6-11. We’ll each read books from the same genre and talk about what we read. June Theme: Humor

Tuesday, June 19th @ 2 pm-----Family Movie Matinee: Peter Rabbit (FAMILIES)
Beat the summer heat by settling in to watch a great family-friendly movie at Walkertown Branch Library. Join us this Tuesday for the new adaptation of Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit.

PG Runtime: 93 minutes Peter Rabbit and his three sisters -- Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail -- enjoy spending their days in Mr. McGregor's vegetable garden. When one of McGregor's relatives suddenly moves in, he's less than thrilled to discover a family of rabbits in his new home. A battle of wills soon breaks out as the new owner hatches scheme after scheme to get rid of Peter -- a resourceful rabbit who proves to be a worthy and wily opponent.

Children will listen to, see, and play different instruments from around the world. They will also get to use a variety of materials to make their own instrument. Presented by the Museum of Anthropology.

L.B. The Poet is well known for his verse and style of words and a delivery that will capture your heart and mind. This summer, join L.B. for a Poetry workshop designed for teens that introduce the mechanics of writing, rhyming and presenting.

Friday, June 29th @ 3 pm-----Animal Sound Bites (FAMILIES)
Ever wonder what animals are saying? Animals make all kinds of sounds to help them survive. Through sound bites, animal artifacts, and a few live animals, we will learn why animals are making so much noise!
Presented by the North Carolina Zoo.

A fun-filled 30-minute program for kids 0-5 with stories, songs, and dancing. A new theme each week! Our storytime themes for this month are:

Wednesday, July 11th @ 1 pm-----Discover: Archaeology, Forensics, and Phys. Anthropology (TEENS)
The program introduces teens to the sciences of archaeology, forensics, and physical anthropology. Using a created burial, teens will get to excavate and study bones, jewelry, pottery, and other artifacts. We will discuss each artifact and the multiple ways it can be studied by anthropologists. As part of the program, teens will get to make a few impressions of the artifacts to keep. Presented by the Museum of Anthropology.

Beat the summer heat by settling in to watch a great family-friendly movie at Walkertown Branch Library. Join us this Friday the 13th to find out what Monsters are really up to in Monsters, Inc.

Join Tain, juggler, musician, and entertainer, for an experience in song and sight. Juggling, comedy, music and interactive exercises will all be part of a fun and inclusive experience. You may even learn to juggle!

Saturday, July 21st @ 11 am-----Pointillism Workshop (FAMILIES)
Children of all ages are invited to learn to paint in this classic style that uses small dots of color to create a beautiful image.
