Basket Weaving at Walkertown Saturday, March 3, 10 am

Instructor John Wald will help you learn how to create a Shaker style basket. These baskets are perfect for decorating your home or as a gift. This is a two-part class that will take place on Saturday, March 3, 10 am - 1 pm, and participants will need to bring a few items with them. Please call the library (336) 703-2990 to register.

Family Movie Matinee "Wonder" at Walkertown Saturday, February 17 at 12 noon

Join us at Walkertown Branch Library for a family movie matinee as we show the 2017 movie Wonder (PG) starring Julia Roberts, Jacob Tremblay, and Owen Wilson. Wonder, based on the bestselling children's novel, tells the heartwarming and inspiring story of August ("Auggie") Pullman, a boy born with a facial deformity that causes people to stare. Our free show starts at 12 noon on Saturday, February 17th.

Find your roots with tips for locating genealogical information about African American ancestors in this free program. This program will cover basic genealogy tips, introduce you to African American online research sites and databases, and explain different types of documents used in African American genealogy. Free Genealogy Starter Kits and handouts with resources listed will be available. Tuesday, February 20, 6 pm at Walkertown Branch Library.

3D Printing Workshop for Adults at Walkertown

Have you heard about 3D printing and want to learn more? Come see a demonstration of a 3D printer on Tuesday, March 13 at 11 am at the Walkertown Branch Library. Learn the basics of how an idea becomes reality using 3D modeling and Computer Aided Design (CAD) through Google Sketchup and see the final print process in action.

The Hometown Crisis: Opioid Epidemic Monday, March 5 at 6 pm at Walkertown

On Monday, March 5 at 6 pm, Daren Ziglar will speak at Walkertown Branch Library on The Hometown Crisis: Opioid Epidemic. Mr. Ziglar is Assistant Chief for Forsyth County Emergency Services and a Medical Examiner for Forsyth County. Attend this important community meeting to learn valuable information about the opioid crisis, including what is being done at state and local levels.
