January brings great programs for Adults at Walkertown Branch. Come to the library and enjoy Coloring for Grown-ups, digitize your old videos and music tapes, watch a movie, attend a local history lecture, create art, solve a crime with a donut, or try a Yoga class. All events at the library are free!
Be a witness at an official Naturalization Ceremony of adults from various countries. The event is sponsored by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service. Sing patriotic songs, recite the Pledge of Allegiance and help welcome new citizens. All ages are invited to stand together in honor and celebration for this civic engagement experience. Learn about tips and resources for starting African American genealogy research. This free program is presented by North Carolina Room staff and features tips for researching African American genealogy resources online. The program will also cover the different types of resources unique to African American history that are used to find genealogy information.
