Summer Reading Guidelines

Our 2023 Summer Reading theme is “Passport To Your Community" with programs that highlight information about our communities and feature some of our community stakeholders. The Forsyth County Public Library wants to provide learning opportunities that equip, empower and connect the community and you will discover a wealth of good reads, neighbors with knowledge to share, and opportunities for continued learning.

Summer Reading kicks off on Friday, June 9 and ends with special finale events on Friday, August 4. All programs are free and open to the public, but some require registration or participation release waivers. All release waivers for children will need to be signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian.

To register call the library location of the event you want to attend. Don’t forget to grab a Summer Reading log to track programs attended and books read.

Why should you read this summer?

Completing a summer reading log makes you eligible for prizes. Every three books read will count as one entry in the prize drawing. The summer is a crucial point between school years that maintains the growth children and teens have gained during the school year.
