Karim Allah to make donation of historical interviews to MJEWHC

Karim Allah, talk show host of the well-known television program AAP Magazine, will begin a new chapter in celebration of Black History Month with a gift to the Malloy/Jordan East Winston Heritage Center of numerous audio and video interviews he has done with several people from the East Winston community.

The public is invited to attend a special program at Malloy/Jordan East Winston Heritage Center Wednesday evening, February 26th at 7 pm. During the program Mr. Allah will present a special video presentation on some of the outstanding citizens of the East Winston community.

For a period of 13 years Mr. Allah interviewed many active and aspiring people through his television program. He also produced film documentaries including The First Forty Years of Atkins High School and The Reunion of the Black Haze Band. He also conducted interviews with the likes of Carl Matthews (leader of the first sit-in victory), William Roscoe Anderson (started the first basketball team at Winston-Salem State University), noted surgeon Dr. Rembert Malloy, College Basketball Hall-of-Fame coach, Clarence "Big House" Gaines, and Pioneers of the Nation of Islam.

The video presentation will provide children, now and in the future, a view of the lives of people in their community whose contributions not only shaped the present but will influence the future for many generations to come.
