1. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in County parks with the exception of a paid reservation at Triad Park’s Woodland Hall Banquet Facility or Amphitheater, or a paid reservation with Tanglewood Park.
  2. Dogs must be on leash at all times. The leash must not be longer than six feet. The only exceptions are at Horizons Park Happy Hounds Dog Park and Tanglewood Park Tanglewoof Dog Park (Off­Leash Areas). Please be considerate and pick up your dog's excrement on park grounds. Horses are not permitted at any County park except at Tanglewood Park.
  3. Weapons are prohibited except concealed handguns, with proper permit, as allowed by County Ordinance and the N.C. General Statutes. Warning: School sponsored curricular and extracurricular activities occur at County Parks. It is a felony to knowingly possess or carry any firearm (whether openly or concealed) to any activity sponsored by a school.
  4. Abusive language and/or behavior is prohibited and may result in expulsion from the park.
  5. Metal detectors or motorized equipment are not permitted. The operation of go-­karts, motorized trail bikes, mini bikes, all terrain vehicles, hobby equipment (cars, rockets, drones, etc.), etc. is not permitted on park grounds.
  6. Nailing, stapling, or taping decorations to park structures is not permitted. Picnic tables may not be moved.
  7. Park grills are designed for charcoal only. It is unlawful to gather and burn wood on County Park property. Pull-behind grills or cookers are only permitted with prior written approval in conjunction with a facility reservation.
  8. Disposal of cooking oil/grease is not permitted in the park. The Client must take oil and grease and take proper precautions to prevent oil spillage or burns to park patrons. A grease pan must be placed under the grill. Do not dispose of ice in grass, flower beds, or mulch areas. Dispose of ice in parking lot only near drains. Make sure all food and drinks are properly disposed of in trash and recycling receptacles.
  9. Canopies or pop-up tents must be 12’ by 12’ or smaller. Canopies or pop-up tents may not be staked into the ground. Erecting tents larger than 12’ by 12’ is prohibited at all County parks with exception to special events with written approval.
  10. No items may be anchored or staked into asphalt or grass areas - weighted anchors only.
  11. All vehicles must park in the parking spaces provided. Parking on the grass or alongside roads is prohibited. No camping, except at the Tanglewood RV Campground (RVs only).
  12. Do not exceed maximum capacity at facilities. Canopies cannot be used to increase maximum capacity. If capacity is exceeded, it overwhelms parking lots, restrooms, etc., and will cause Forsyth County Parks & Recreation to deny users entry into Park as well as deny future reservations.
  13. Commercial Use and Fundraising on County Park Property is prohibited with exceptions to Special Events that receive approval from Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Event Planners or Reservation Staff. Clinics, professional trainings, and for-profit classes or events are also prohibited without written approval. Solicitation is prohibited.
  14. Amplified music/PA systems are only permitted with a paid reservation or special event at Triad Park or Tanglewood Park. No amplified music or PA Systems are permitted at other county parks. For the courtesy of other park patrons, music must be only loud enough to be heard in immediate shelter area only.
  15. Dunking booths, moonwalks, and other inflatables are only permitted in the Triad Park Vendor Areas rented in conjunction with Shelter #1 and #7. The vendor must provide certificates of insurance six weeks in advance to Forsyth County Parks & Recreation. Anchors and stakes cannot be hammered into asphalt or grass areas. Weighted anchors only may be used. Dunking booths are permitted only at designated location in the parking lot at Shelter #1 and Shelter #7. Groups will have to schedule their exact ETA with Parks and Recreation and booth vendor to coordinate filling. Vendor must provide plywood under the dunking booth to prevent damage to asphalt. Park staff will not provide a water key or hoses to do the filling. Water can be dumped in parking lot so that water will flow into a storm drain. A surcharge of $25.00 will be added to the reservation for the utility costs.
  16. The following is not permitted at County Parks: drones, water slides, amusement rides or equipment, petting zoos, pony rides, hot air balloons, helicopters, fireworks, sparklers, confetti, piñatas, sidewalk chalk, water balloons, water guns/pistols or unauthorized oversized vehicles. Check with Tanglewood Park’s Marketing and Events Division and Recreation Manager for exceptions at Special Events.
  17. Kite flying is only allowed in certain areas as designated by park staff. Do not fly kites over walking paths or heavy populated areas within the parks. Hitting golf balls is not permitted in the parks, except at Tanglewood golf courses.
  18. Hunting and the disposal or release of waterfowl, rabbits, or other pets is prohibited at County Parks.
  19. Use of athletic fields during rain, thunderstorms, or when wet is not allowed.
  20. Outdoor water spigots are cut-off at all parks as they do not provide potable drinking water. These spigots are not available for public use.
  21. Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is not responsible for items left behind or lost on park property.
  22. Violation of any of the park rules may result in expulsion with denial of future rental privileges. Forsyth County Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel the function or substitute the facility at any time.
  23. Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Photography Policy
