Sergeant R. C. Weiderman serves in the Administrative Services Division as the Fleet Procurement Sergeant. He is responsible for overseeing all equipment and uniform needs of FCSO staff members. Due to the nature of his job, Sergeant Weiderman does not have much personal contact with the citizens of Forsyth County on a daily basis. This has not changed the fact that Sergeant Weiderman still understands the importance of doing our best to help our citizens in time of need.

During the month of June, a severe thunderstorm struck Forsyth County. Sergeant Weiderman was attending to his normal duties when word came out about the severity of the storm. Sergeant Weiderman secured his office and began patrolling the county to see if he could be of assistance to anyone in need. He noticed a fallen tree that was blocking the driveway of an elderly female. Sergeant Weiderman determined that she lived alone and had nobody available to help her. He obtained a chainsaw and spent the next hour removing the tree from her driveway so she would be able to leave if needed. The Sheriffs Office received a phone call from a citizen that was watching Sergeant Weiderman work to clear the elderly female's driveway. She was very happy to report that it made her feel wonderful knowing that there are officers that will do whatever it takes to assist folks in time of need.

The type of compassion demonstrated by Sergeant Weiderman reflects well upon the Forsyth County Sheriffs Office, and we are proud to call him part of the FCSO family.
