May Sworn Staff Member of the Month

On the morning of May 23, 2014, the Field Services Division responded to 9101 Huntsman Dr. involving a House Breaking and Larceny in progress.

Deputy M. Thompson from the Civil Section was the first to arrive on scene. Prior to his arrival, witnesses advised that the suspect had fled the scene. Deputy Thompson immediately obtained a detailed description of the suspect and relayed the information to responding units.

As Deputy Thompson continued to search for the suspect, he spoke with a citizen asking if they had observed the suspect vehicle pass. The citizen had witnessed the suspect vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, causing another motorist to leave the roadway to avoid a collision. Within minutes, a responding Field Services supervisor observed the vehicle and apprehended the suspect. The suspect is a habitual felon whose criminal history includes multiple home burglaries.
