The Walkertown Branch Library Afterthoughts Book Club will meet in November to discuss Marilynne Robinson’s 2005 Pulitzer Prize winning novel “Gilead.” Faced with his own mortality, Reverend John Ames writes an account of his life and family to his young son. Although only Robinson’s second novel, “Gilead” was met with overwhelming critical praise for her sparse and beautiful prose. Thursday, November 8, 11 am.
