Quilts and the Underground Railroad: Free Public Lecture at Walkertown

Much has been written about the role of quilts as signals for directions and for “safe houses” during the northern migration of slaves known as the “Underground Railroad”. Madeline Shepperson, an avid quilter and collector of antique quilts, will speak on Tuesday, November 15th, at 6:30 pm and share the truth, myths and folklore surrounding this fascinating subject.
