May Sworn Staff Member of the Month

On Thursday, May 27, 2010, Inv. Jones observed a dark colored Jeep Cherokee occupied by three men driving on Highway 421S prior to entering Forsyth County. The vehicle matched what he recalled to be the description of a housebreaking suspect vehicle from the area. He caught up with the vehicle and ran the plate, which was found to be fictitious. Inv. Jones conducted a traffic stop in Clemmons. Deputy D. Carleton arrived on scene with Inv. Jones. Upon Inv. Jones’ initial approach of the vehicle he observed two handguns laying on the dash of the vehicle. Deputy T. McMasters arrived and secured the occupants.

Deputy Carleton checked for warrants on all three subjects and found two of the subjects were wanted. Both men were arrested on the warrants.

The third man in the vehicle was found to be a convicted felon and a validated gang member. He was placed under arrest for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Detectives with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and several other jurisdictions are currently investigating these men for their involvement with housebreaking cases.

Inv. Jones’ awareness of his surroundings and his diligence in keeping up with suspect information aided in taking wanted persons off the street and has given Detectives leads on multiple Housebreaking cases.

Investigator Jones is currently assigned to the Crime Scene Unit and has been a sworn law enforcement officer for 7 years.
