In November, Detention Officer H. Zacarolli was conducting a routine security check when she noticed suspicious behavior of one of the inmates. Detention Officer Zacarolli exercised good judgment and checked in with the inmate. Although the inmate denied that anything was going on, Detention Officer Zacarolli was persistent until she realized the inmate was concealing an object. After further investigation, Detention Officer Zacarolli found that the inmate was hiding an illegal substance. Detention Officer Zacarolli’s diligence and commitment to her job were evident throughout the incident. Because of Detention Officer Zacarolli’s persistence, she was able to seize the illegal substance and by doing so she was able to ensure the safety of the inmate and security of all within the Law Enforcement Detention Center.
