Money Smart Week

Forsyth County Public Library sponsors this annual series of programs to help you learn how to be smart with your money. The following programs are scheduled for Money Smart Week 2017:

April 17
Rural Hall Branch, 6:30 pm
Budgeting for Home Ownership

Interested in buying your first home? Are you a new homeowner trying to put all the financial pieces together? This workshop will give you practical strategies for budgeting. Light refreshments will be served. Call 336-703-2970 to register. Presented by Deborah Womack, NC Cooperative Extension agent.

Southside Branch, 6:30 pm
Going to College- Counting the Cost

This program is designed to assist middle and high school students in finding out the true cost of college, and what they can do now to reduce their reliance on student loans. Presented by the Center for Smart Financial Choices.

Saving Energy at Home to Save Money

This program will focus on providing home maintenance tips and ways to be energy efficient, and easy ways to make the living environment (inside and out) safe and comfortable. Improving Your Personal Financial Position

Learn how to do your budget, start building your emergency fund, and get serious about retirement. This program is presented by Ronnie Gillikin, affiliated with the Dave Ramsey Group. The discussion will be based on the book "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey.

Money Habitudes for Teens

This card game gets students to talk about money in a fun, non-threatening way. Teens will understand how habits, attitudes and values affect financial decisions. Presented by the Center for Smart Financial Choices.
