MED instead of MEDS - Eating the Mediterranean Way series

Come to our Lunch and Learn Series “MED instead of MEDS” beginning this holiday season. In this six-part weekly series, you will learn seven simple steps to eating the Mediterranean Way. This will include mindful eating, meal planning, label reading, right-sizing proportions, and being mindful about physical activity. There will also be a cooking demonstration by Forsyth County's Chef Floyd Davis at each session.

The ‘MED Way’ has been proven to protect against chronic illness. As well, studies have shown that in some cases it has helped decrease medications needed for controlling blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes.

The Lewisville Branch joins with North Carolina Cooperative Extension agent Virginia Lopez for this program. Participants may attend in person in the library auditorium to view Lopez's presentation on our projection screen or view from home via Zoom. Either way, you won’t want to miss learning about the ‘Med Way’ to a healthier lifestyle. The “MED instead of MEDS” program was created by a group of nutrition and health professionals from North Carolina State University and the North Carolina Division of Public Health.
