The Red Cross mobile lab will be on-site at the Lewisville Branch on Wednesday, Feb. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. Do you love LEGO? Do you love movies? If the answer is yes and yes, then we have a perfect competition for you. Create a scene from your favorite movie using LEGO bricks and display it at the Lewisville Branch. Drop off your creation at the Lewisville Branch between Jan. 17 - 25. The creations will be on display in the Children’s Area during the month February to allow our customers to view and vote for their favorite model. All ages can participate. There will be multiple winners.
Get a first look at the works by artist Stephen Towns at the Lewisville Branch on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. -- almost two weeks before the exhibition opens at Reynolda House Museum of American Art (Feb. 18 - May 14). Museum curator Allison Slaby will share a selection of works from the upcoming exhibition, including figurative paintings and story quilts that expand the historical narratives of enslaved and free African Americans.
Have you wanted to start your own garden but weren’t sure where to begin? Your library challenges you to read a variety of books throughout the year. Complete the reading challenge, which encourages readers to step into a wide variety of stories and genres. Forms are available at the Lewisville Branch or you can click the webstory to find a printable copy. When you finish, please submit your form to the Lewisville Branch by Saturday, Dec. 9 to be entered in the drawing for a prize from Bookmarks. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec. 11. Join us for our monthly Friday Family Film on Jan. 27 at 3:30 p.m. We'll be showing "Top Gun: Maverick." This film was produced by Paramount Pictures. The Tuesday at Two Book Club meets every first Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. The books are selected by the members and are a mixture of fiction (all genres) and nonfiction. Find your inner artist! Coloring has been linked to reducing stress as it calms and refocuses the mind. Join the Color & Coffee Group for some relaxation and socializing while you color.
