Walkertown Branch Library's Milestone Kits are great resources for parents of babies through kindergarteners. Each kit includes two books for adults to learn about activites or what to expect and three books to read together.
The Walkertown Branch Library is hosting a display of Kernersville resident Annemarie Johnson's collection of vintage space collectibles in celebration of the 60 year anniversary of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to orbit the Earth. Items include books, vintage postcards, commemorative patches, stamps, and other space-themed memorabilia. On display through the end of April.
Growing Amazing Tomatoes is a free in-person outdoor workshop for adults. Presented by Cameron Waters, Community Gardening Program Coordinator at N.C. Cooperative Extension, and Bob LePere, Mentor to Community Gardens and Extension Master Gardener Volunteer with 20+ years of experience working in professional greenhouses. Plants give-away for registered participants. Space is limited. Please contact the library to sign up.
Visiting artist Patty Donoghue presents her new paintings to celebrate Earth Day. The artworks are done in the diptych style where two panels are painted as a pair. While using natural colors and mixed media she promotes creativity as a therapeutic mode of well-being. On display at the Walkertown Branch Library through the end of June.
