Free Spanish Language Class at Walkertown

A Spanish class for adults will be held at Walkertown Branch Library every Wednesday, 6 - 7 p.m. for Advanced students and 7 - 8 p.m. for Beginners. Susan Moretz, an experienced ESL and Spanish instructor, will be leading the class.

Winston-Salem artist Willie Welch is featured in an art exhibit at Walkertown Branch Library. His realistic acrylic and pastel works reflect his rural upbringing and experience as a technical illustrator, commercial artist and designer.

On September 5th the Library kicks off its 18th annual community read, On the Same Page, with “Speak No Evil” by Dr. Uzodinma Iweala. I would like to encourage everyone to give this powerful, award-winning novel a try. This novel covers so many timely issues, but I’d like to focus on one topic for this month’s reading challenge - the immigrant experience in America.
