Paintings by Craig Richards at Walkertown

Paintings by artist Craig Richards are on display at Walkertown Branch library through the end of September 2017.

Come visit Walkertown Branch Library's new art exhibit featuring beautiful landscapes by award-winning Winston Salem artist Craig Richards. Richards has a deep love for the outdoors, spending much of his free time climbing, paddling, and hiking in the North Carolina Piedmont and beyond. This love is reflected in the essence of his paintings and sculptures. His paintings are primarily in oils done en plein air (in open air, or outdoors).

Richards studied art at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ and received training from several master artists including Heiner Hertling, Louis Escobedo, D. Eleinne Basa, Ralph James, and John Budicin. In addition to regularly teaching painting workshops and classes, Richards is also the founding member of Triad Outdoor Painters, a group of local artists in the NC Piedmont and Foothills. He is also Vice President of the Muddy River Art Association.

"My favorite piece is "Glacial Run". It turned out so loose and impressionistic. The colors are soft and flowing. I only occasionally achieve a piece that I refer to as "lovely" but this is one of them," Mr. Richards said.

All paintings are for sale. Call 336-703-2990 for more information, or visit the artist's website to contact the artist directly.
