Vintage Space Collectibles on Display at Walkertown

The Walkertown Branch Library is hosting a display of Kernersville resident Annemarie Johnson's collection of vintage space collectibles in celebration of the 60 year anniversary of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to orbit the Earth. Items include books, vintage postcards, commemorative patches, stamps, and other space-themed memorabilia.

““Poyekhali!!” With that one Russian word, meaning “Let’s go!” on April 12, 1961, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to become the first human to travel in space.” (nasa.gov)

Annemarie Johnson is an artist and collector hailing from Holland, Michigan. She collects vintage and handmade items from across the globe. Check out her Instagram at @inxwell to see more of her vintage items and art.

The "Poyekhali!: 60 Years of Humans in Space" display will be on display through April. Stop by the library and check out this unique display.
