NEA Big Read: Short Story Contest

Short Story Writing Contest
September 15 - October 10

For all those budding or experienced writers out there, the library will be sponsoring a Short Story Contest during our Big Read campaign. Writers of all ages will have until Wednesday, Oct. 10 to submit their most creative and compelling stories to their local library. Entries must be original work with up to 1,000 words. The Winston Salem Writers group will review all entries and choose the winners. Categories for entry include children, young adults and adults. Each winner will receive a $100 gift card, have their work added to the FCPL catalog and will be asked to read their short story at the Monster Ball finale event held on Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Central Library.
