Unearth a Story during Forsyth County Public Library's Summer Reading Program
Embark on a journey of curiosity, discovery, and learning for everyone this summer! Summer Reading kicks off on Friday, June 5 at Forsyth County Central Library.
Embark on a journey of curiosity, discovery, and learning for everyone from the young to young at heart with the 2026 Forsyth County Public Library Summer Reading Program ... Unearth a Story! Whether you enjoy digging into a good book, uncovering hidden meanings, or exploring the past, Unearth a Story underscores the joy of discovery that reading brings.
The Forsyth County Public Library has a countless number of stories to discover within our walls, on our shelves, and the programs and services we offer to our communities. We hope you’ll learn something new about yourself, your community, and your library this summer.
Summer Reading kicks off on Friday, June 5 with a party at Forsyth County Central Library and runs through Friday, July 31. All programs are free and open to the public, but some require registration and/or participation release waivers. Registration instructions are included with each program description in the calendar. All release waivers for children will need to be signed by the child’s parent or legal guardian.
When you’re not attending programs or performances at branches, we hope you’ll take some time this summer to read. Librarians have curated lists of reading recommendations for multiple age groups and genres. Pick up a bookmark (or two!) at your favorite branch or check out the lists online and connect with our online catalog.
Want some swag this summer? Beginning Friday, June 5 you can pick up a Digby card (named for our Summer Reading mascot).Record the books you read and the things you do this summer in the community and at the library to win something small and be entered to win something big! Maybe not T-Rex big, but something you’re sure to enjoy.
Have a wonderful summer of discovery!
