On 10-23-2014, B&B Country Corner Store contacted the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office due to concerns for an elderly customer. He had not been in the store in some time, and the store attendant was worried about his well-being due to poor health.

Sergeant Osborne and Deputy Herrin responded to the home to find the residence locked up and no indications of anyone being home. Deputy Herrin spoke to several neighbors and received accounts as to how long someone had seen the customer. Sergeant Osborne and Deputy Herrin intensified their investigation, checking the property for signs of occupancy. They located the customer's sister and she was informed that forced entry would be made due to clues that her brother was inside the home.

Entry into the home was made. Officers found the resident lying on the floor and in need of immediate medical attention. The compassion, quick thinking, and dedication of Sergeant Osborne and Deputy Herrin saved his life.
