Pay by Mail
When paying by mail, please include a copy of your tax bill and/or your tax bill
account number on your check. For your protection, please do not send cash through
the mail. To avoid interest, we suggest that you mail your payment five (5) business
days before the past due date.
Payments are deemed received based upon the U.S. Postal Service postmark. If no
date is shown on the postmark or if the postmark is not affixed by the U.S. Postal
Service, the payment will be deemed received when it is actually delivered to the
Tax Office. The burden of proof will be on the taxpayer to show that payment was
timely made.

Pay by Phone
You may pay by phone using a checking account or a credit card. The number is 1-877-309-4924.
You must have your 12-digit tax account number, your bank routing transit number
and your checking account number.
North Carolina law does not have a provision to allow local governments to absorb
the cost of this service; therefore, you will be charged a convenience fee. For
additional information about fees associated with this payment method, please read

fee chart. Payments take two to three business days to reach the Tax
Office.
Pay Online
To pay your tax bill online, visit our Tax Bill Online Services. There are two ways
to pay online, by check or by credit card. To pay by check you must have your bank
routing number along with your checking account number.

Pay in Person
Payments can be made in person at the Tax Collector's Office between the hours of
8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday (except holidays).
