Mr. W. Breasure joined the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office in June 2022. During his time in the Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), it became apparent that their dayshift schedule was leaving the Juvenile Intervention and Investigation Team (JIIT) without needed camera surveillance support when working nights. The RTIC team adjusted their shifts to provide coverage for JIIT, regardless of their schedule. During the night of November 17, 2022, Mr. Breasure was monitoring the cameras and observed five juveniles displaying multiple firearms inside the Winston-Salem city limits. This information was relayed, in real time, to JIIT personnel in the area. Three firearms were subsequently recovered: a .9 mm handgun stolen from Yadkin County, a 5.56 rifle stolen from Surry County and a .32 caliber revolver. In addition to the one arrest, a juvenile was charged on a Juvenile Petition. This is just one example of Mr. Breasure’s desire to assist different divisions in this agency. Mr. Breasure exemplifies what we should strive for in our daily work.
