AQI readings are hovering near the Code Green/Yellow threshold today. Surface high pressure will remain parked off the coast while a frontal boundary meanders to our north and west over the next few days before finally sweeping through on Saturday. Out ahead of that front, enough air mass stagnation is expected to occur to maintain lower Code Yellow particle pollution readings. Periods of cloud cover are possible and ozone readings could be limited by additional cloudiness. Lower Code Yellow concentrations are expected tomorrow and Thursday before a decrease to the upper Code Green range on Friday. But as stated before, readings could be lower over the next couple of days if we end up cloudier than expected. (Perrotte)
