Moderate particle pollution remains in place to round out the workweek. Ozone is hovering at the upper end of the Code Green range. It will be hot and humid over the next three days with high temperatures in the upper 90s and only low-end rain chances to offer some relief. The increased humidity levels does limit ozone formation and readings are expected to remain in the upper Code Green range through Monday. The low-level flow pattern across the region has shifted such that a stagnant continental air mass will be recirculated over the area as surface high pressure drifts westward along the Gulf Coast. Fine particle concentrations are expected to hover near the Code Green/Yellow threshold for the balance of the forecast period. – Greg Perrotte / perrotgt@forsyth.cc
