We have been receiving calls lately from citizens who have mailed in their County Pet License payment and are concerned because their check has not been cashed. We appreciate you sending your payments and we are working as hard as possible to process them. As is the case for many businesses and organizations, we are struggling with being short staffed at the moment. Please know that we are not charging late fees on licensing right now and we hope to be caught up on processing payments soon. We appreciate your patience.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Ofice Animal Service Division provides services to citizens of Forsyth County in reference to responsible pet ownership. The Animal Service Officers enforce NC State law and Forsyth County Ordinances related to animal welfare,cruelty,neglect,rabies enforcement, and licensing. We also partner with multiple animal welfare groups to make sure our furry friends are happy and safe.

We are located at 5570 Sturmer Park Cir. Winston-Salem, NC 27105 in the Forsyth County Animal Shelter. The shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am until 6:00 pm, closed Sunday, Monday and holidays. Currently our facility is not open to the public. Licensing or citation payments can be made by mail or may be placed in the secure drop box located on the front of the building.
